Hello!  Welcome to my little bookish corner of the internet, together with my little YouTube channel, HERE.

I started this blog and channel for a couple of reasons really, one being that I love reading and have fallen off the wagon somewhat of late and secondly because I was (and still am) seeing a lot of comments on BookTube videos that say things along the line of “I would love to start a BookTube channel but I can’t afford it” – I wanted to show those people that you don’t have to have a lot of money to read great books!

I have a really eclectic taste for books, no really, I do!  One moment you will find me reading Harry Potter (for the millionth time) and the next I will be devouring this years darkest psychological thriller, or the new Jodi Picoult .. or Dan Brown for that matter too! I will give anything a go and am not afraid to DNF (did not finish) a book if it is not gripping me!

Reading on budget is something I take seriously too – my current life situation means that I don’t have much money to spend on books on a monthly basis (apart form Xmas and my birthday when I splurge) and so spend a lot of time at the local libraries and charity shops and also download a lot of FREE Kindle books; I say a lot because there are some questionable ones out there, but there are also some real gems that get totally overlooked, in my opinion.

My aim will be to post a review for every book I read from the day I start this blog (and perhaps some retrospectively if I feel they deserve a shout out); I am equal parts a mood reader and a planning reader so there will be some TBR (To Be Read) posts when I am planning certain books for certain times (think challenges mainly) and I will also try and state where the book came from and how much it cost me.

I am always open to hearing from and chatting with you in the comments or via email / social media so please do give me a comment, follow, subscribe wherever you find me!

For a bit more personal information about me .. well, I am Emma and I am in my 30’s living and working in Sidmouth in Devon, UK.  I was always a really avid reader but somehow ground to a real halt for some reason.  I have missed out on so many great books and have loved watching BookTube so thought I would jump back into reading and make it harder to back out by starting a blog and having you all as accountability partners!!

I don’t have any qualifications in reading, writing, reviewing or literature in general – all thoughts, opinions and comments are my own and whilst I encourage debate and chatter, I won’t tolerate any hate comments (I hate that I even have to put that).

Grab a cuppa, sit back and dive in!

Review Policy:

I will review all of the books I read on this blog, my YouTube channel, on GoodReads and on Amazon (not necessarily all of them for every book).

I will read most things, but am not afraid to DNF a book (after at least 50 pages) if it is not gripping me; I particularly love Thrillers of all kinds and crime but really do have a wide range of likes.

I am open to reviewing self-published books.

I am happy to review all forms of books (i.e. paperback, hardback, ebooks, audiobooks, rough drafts etc).

I will be honest with my review – If I didn’t like it, I will say that.  Not every book is for me but I appreciate that is my opinion and will never bash the author just because I didn’t like it.

If you are sending something to me for review, please tell me if you have a deadline by which you would like the review done.  I will endeavour to reach that deadline but can only guarantee it if you tell me in advance!

Please do NOT email me constantly to see if I have read your book. Once to confirm it arrived safely is fine, otherwise I will be back in touch when the review goes live.

I am open to taking part in challenges, blog tours, tags and other things!

I DO NOT give anyone permission to republish any of the reviews on this blog without my consent.
